Is CNA Training Online Right For You?
It is in fact very convenient to be able to stay at home and do all of your class work on the computer. In a lot of ways CNA Training Online makes sense because it allows the student to go at his or her own pace. While some students are able to soak up everything in a lecture, many students find that they need to have the information repeated a few times before they are comfortable with it. In the CNA Training Online setting, most instructors will have various CNA training modules and videos that the student can simply watch over and over again until they are comfortable with the material. This is definitely a perk to Online course work.
Another wonderful characteristic of Online CNA Courses are that they are extremely convenient for an adult student. Often times students that are taking the CNA classes are adults that don’t have a lot of time for their education. Many students have families and responsibilities that do not allow them to come to school at scheduled times and take classses. Online CNA training gives folks an option when deciding if they are going to be able to attend a CNA program.
Now there are some negatives when it comes to online cna training. One negative is that you are not going to be under the direct guidance of an instructor throughout the entire course. It can be much more difficult to ask questions or get feedback from your instructor through email then it is in the classroom setting. If you feel as though you need more close guidance, or that you simply cannot follow the curriculum well without a guiding hand, then online training might not be for you.
Lastly, and this is very important, even though the course may be online it will have to have a skills portion of the course that will not be done online. In most CNA Programs you will be required to have skills training and clinical training at a chosen facility. All CNA Certification bodies in the United States require a certain curriculum in order for the candidate to be certified. The Curriculums ALWAYS require skills check offs and clinical time. Do not let any schools take advantage of you by not offering these key parts of your training. If you have any questions regarding what the school is offering as a curriculum call your local CNA Certification Registry for more information.
