Directions For Your Essay

The CNAthrive.com  scholarship is available again this year. This scholarship is awarded based upon the effort put forth by the candidate to show their creativity and drive to educate their fellow students.

Starting Point:

Choose a topic in which you believe you have developed some sort of expertise during your time as a student or during your employment in the field.

These topics have a broad range, for example:

1. Taking vital signs
2. Assessing a patient
3. How you have studied for Nursing Exams
4. How you were able to get your first nursing job
5. Ways to properly keep sterile
6. Starting an IV
7. What kind of study skills have worked for you and how did you develop and use them
8. Where did you find volunteer opportunities and how did they affect you
9. Effective study supplies
10. Applying for scholarships
11. Managing patients
12. Developing study groups
13. How did you manage to get into nursing school
14. Share your story

Allow your imagination to lead you to whichever topic you think will be of most use to other students. The more creative and well done, the better chance you have to be chosen to recieve the scholarship.

 

Choosing a medium:

Video

By far the best choice to deliver this information is through a short video. This can be done easily with a phone, a laptop, a camera, or any sort of recording device.

Written

If you are unable to gain access to a video recording device of some kind then you may submit your experience in the form of an essay, or in a tutorial guide format.

 

Submitting

Upon completion of your video or written piece, please send your  file to [email protected].  Title your email as “Submission”.

Include your name, your current level of nursing education, and then attach the file to the email.
